TAIYEN has over fifty years of history. In the past, during the age of state enterprises, TAIYEN performed its assigned mission of providing a stable supply of salt to industry, the public, and the armed forces. Although we encountered our share of difficulties, we always managed to achieve our mission. But while we grew strong with the government's assistance, this sponsorship saddled us with restrictions and the heavy weight of the past. Today much has changed. The internal and external environments for business have been transformed since our privatization in November 2003, and we have faced steadily increasing challenges. Consequently we have been to constantly adjusting our business model to adapt to the changing world. 　 Our company will adopt the following business strategy to cope with today's environment: 　 1. We will maintain a focused strategy, concentrate on our core areas (salt and derivative products), and subsequently entered biotech industry (including the areas of collagen-containing biomedical materials, cosmetics, and nutriceutical , etc.) 　 2. We will develop innovative new business models. While maintaining attention to our employees' welfare, we will pursue a youthful brand image and a global market position. At the same time, we will try to avoid unnecessary diversifications. We aim to make TAIYEN a leading brand in the beauty and health industry by learning from the cosmetics marketing model perfected in France over the past few centuries 　 We have consistently stuck to our business philosophy of "Professionalism, Innovation, and Efficiency," and this credo is an integral part of our organizational culture. Looking ahead to the future, we will focus even more resources on R&D and brand management in order to achieve maximum added value in the corporate value chain. All of us at TAIYEN will work hard to attain a win-win-win outcome for our customers, employees, and stockholders, and create new opportunities for lasting operation. Chairman
